IPL Skin Rejuvenation & Thread Veins

Investing in yourself is the new self care.

What is IPL Therapy?

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Therapy is a gentle and effective way to enhance the look of various skin issues. This advanced light treatment can help with conditions like rosacea, thread veins, sunspots, sagging skin, and other signs of aging. At Avalon Skin Clinic, IPL Therapy targets specific areas of concern for better results.

Most clients report feeling a mild ‘pinging sensation’ during the treatment, like being flicked by a rubber band. You can go back to your daily activities right after the session. A patch test is needed before your first treatment. While you may see some improvement after one session, a series of six treatments is usually suggested for the best outcome.

Each treatment is customized for the individual, and results can vary. We recommend having a one-on-one consultation with our Treatment Coordinators to explore your options.

Which skin concerns can IPL Therapy address?

IPL for fine lines and wrinkles
IPL Therapy is also a great option for skin rejuvenation. The light wavelengths heat the targeted areas, prompting the release of elastin and collagen. These natural proteins help reduce fine lines and wrinkles, giving you a more youthful and firm appearance. You may notice improvements after the first treatment, but a complete series of sessions is recommended for optimal results.

IPL for thread veins
IPL Therapy effectively treats unwanted thread veins on the face, chest, and hands. The light wavelengths heat and damage the blood vessel walls, causing them to collapse and be absorbed by the body. Over time, the veins become less visible, leading to a smoother skin tone.

Treatment Details

1. If you choose to go ahead with IPL, your first step will be a free consultation with one of our skilled Treatment Coordinators. In this meeting, you can share your concerns and desired outcomes. They will provide a detailed explanation of the treatment, gather your complete medical history, and schedule a patch test to confirm your suitability for the procedure.

2. Before the treatment
Your therapist will conduct the patch test at least 24 hours prior to the treatment to check for any skin reactions to the laser. They will also guide you on the necessary pre-treatment steps to ensure you are ready.

3. During the treatment
In the IPL Therapy session, your Practitioner will clean your face to remove makeup and impurities. After cleansing, they will begin the treatment on all the areas you want to address.

4. After the treatment
Right after the treatment, you may notice some redness and a mild “sunburn” sensation in the treated areas. These symptoms typically fade within a few hours or up to 2 days. You can apply makeup immediately after the treatment to mask any redness.
